Disciples Disciple: A Podcast

Brandon Swain   -

Disciples disciple. We have been talking about discipleship a lot. After all, Jesus gave the church the command in the great commission to make disciples (Matt. 28:19). As Christians, we are to teach and be taught, to “do the work of ministry,” and to teach Christ, “warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ” (Eph. 4:12; Col. 1:28). But, we often might struggle with our competency: “who am I to do this?” Or, we already feel short on time: “how am I supposed to squeeze one more thing into my life?” As difficult as our lives might be, let’s do at least two things. First, start with how Christ designed the church to function. We take our marching orders from our Great King. We want to be obedient. We want to please Jesus. From that desire, second, let’s then think about how discipling and being discipled can be contextualized given the lives the Lord has given us to be faithful with. There is not meant to be, necessarily, a one-size-fits-all approach to discipleship. With these things in mind, I would like to encourage you to listen in on this discussion with pastor Garrett Kell, presented by the Crossway podcast. I pray that this is a blessing to you as you explore how you can be faithful to Christ’s call to disciple and be discipled.
