We Sing: Some Recommendations

Ethan Fordham   -

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote that the church sings; on the Lord’s Day, as we sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs together, the Lord brings the word to bear on our minds and our hearts. Singing as a proclamation of the truth unifies the church with its single congregational voice. Singing also brings the word to bear on our minds and our hearts as we rehearse gospel truths in song, week in and week out. These awesome realities are merely a part of what God has planned for His people when we gather as Christ’s body on the Lord’s Day. So what about the rest of the week?

In the car, on the couch, working in the backyard, or during times of private devotion, God’s people can sing. Now, we live in an absolute data fog; there are endless options at our fingertips. So, this week I wanted to present a series of worship music recommendations. There are plenty of other things you could listen to throughout the day, so this list is not meant to limit you to just Christian music. Rather, as you go throughout your day, use this music to remind yourself of the beauty of our God and His gospel. Set some time aside, and sing along. Use the links below to access the playlists.
